Description
ARCESIA: "Reachin" (Alpha 103/1971)
Amazing LP wherein a formerly famous big band singer goes loungedelic; the charm of the LP being in the odd juxtaposition of late 60s SoCal Doors influenced pop/rock styling with heavy organ and (often) wild guitar (at times with use of fuzz) backing the seemingly stream of consciousness lyrics belted out in his big band crooner style.
Described by The Lama in the Acid Archives as "imagining Del Shannon's Charles Westover LP with Father Yod on vocals and you're halfway there". Even that is only halfway there.
Original copies can be counted on one's fingers with a couple to spare. Reissued twice (each time with the side order reversed), with even those not easy to find these days, an original is nearly impossible. Nearly, I say, because here's one right here, and it's a beauty.
The one-sided paste-on cover is in Ex condition. There is a 1/2" seam split in the lower right corner. The blank back has a couple of light stains.
The record is visually a strong VG+. There is a small bubble in the pressing that comes through on both sides. The first side has a small amount of light scuffing. The record plays VG+, probably due more to the mediocre quality of the pressing. There is intermittent low crackling, more on the first side than the second (which is fairly free of surface noise), and there are a couple of low pops on the first side.

GENERAL INFO
SHIPPING: Shipping costs will be quoted based on cost for estimated weight plus $1.00 to cover most of the cost of packing materials.
All records are packed in in between two cardboard filler pads and shipped in professional cardboard mailing boxes. All unsealed 12" records are taken out of their covers to prevent seam splitting. If there is a custom inner sleeve, the record will be put in a separate white inner. If a 7" record comes in a picture sleeve, the same procedure is followed.
GRADING: I grade records both visually and audibly. As grading is so imprecise and subjective, I don't have a set grading description like you see listed in many auction and collector magazines. My grades for records and covers are based on the overall conditions I describe in each auction; I will note any visual defects and (for the vinyl) any non-musical sounds (pops, clicks, skips, etc.).
