BIG (ELETTRONIC SOUND) / PRIVILEGE ... 7-inch, 45rpm OST single by ARCHIBALD & TIM. Original Italian pressing on the STYLE label (STMS 668), from 1967. Elusive and still practically unknown single by the mysterious Archibald & Tim. Only our 2nd copy ever by the visionary, Joe Meek inspired, double-act... first copy found around the same time we discovered that the Dick Hyman & Mary Mayo - Moon Gas theme existed on an Italian picture sleeve 7inch :) Here's maybe the demented Italian brother with similar space age lounge cum pop electronique aesthetic. Quirky and futuristic sounds on their mini masterpiece, BIG ELECTRONIC SOUND. Basically, a looped mash-up of DIY electronics / avantgarde strings / groovy drums and basslines / Baroque interludes and hammond organ using primitive tape manipulation / splicing to devastating effect. Syncopated beats and kooky psychedelic rhythms with dub sounds / sci-fi noises / oddball hip hop samples and short, sharp breaks ;) Great for DJs. Similar maverick arrangement as the contemporary and trendy cut 'n' paste mood music heard on certain UK television adverts these days. PRIVILEGE is a strange pop cum gothic lounge version of the Mike Leander soundtrack theme (from the underground film directed by Peter Watkins starring Paul Jones / Jean Shrimpton and Mark London). Flashes of psychedelia / Balearic guitar motifs / backward drums cum tape manipulation and other studio trickery on this side too. Listening with headphones captures all the subtle nuances of this bugged-out double-sider. Weird '50s nudist / negative photo image style picture sleeve artwork. Seldom comes up for sale. Very rare OST 45!!!

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG

Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG++ condition (closer to M-) with some hairlines / faint scuffs from sleeve removal and some tiny old marks from the original pressing process. Some light surface noises. A few soft pops / soft ticks (as you can hear on our soundclip). The delicate thin paper picture sleeve is in strong VG+ condition with general creasing from storage. Ring wear / ring dirt marks to back sleeve. Some corner wear / edge wear and natural age discoloration (mostly all to back sleeve). Very rare OST 45!!!
