We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Original 1968 first pressing by compelling folk-rock artist Phil Ochs ...Whether the lyric lilt of his voice or the tremendous passion of his articulate poetry, Phils Ochs had a profound impact on listeners. He could be politically outlandish but more often incredibly insightful.

Featuring help from his friend Van Dyke Parks, TAPE FROM CALIFORNIA is a real cause for celebration and what Phil perceived to be the cancerous immorality eating away at America's institutions and conscience. The title track, "White Boots Marching in a Yellow Land," "Half a Century High," "The War is Over," and especially "When in Rome" relentlessly pursue the theme of internal decay. "When in Rome," Phil's longest song ever, presents the history and future - and is the best song on this album - is the 13-minute epic "When in Rome." Though the lyrics are tricky to interpret, it is often believed to be about the history and predicted decline and fall of the American Empire, comparing it to the Roman Empire. Phil sees the American (Roman) Empire as corrupted force that has become the very evil it had intended to replace. The entire album (save one song) thematically leads up to this revelation. The 8-verse ballad complements the anti-war songs "White Boots Marching in a Yellow Land" and "War is Over," the latter being a hit, as well as the humorously ironic "The Harder They Fall." Another great song was "Joe Hill," one of Ochs' most well-known songs about a folk singer and union organizer who was executed based on dubious evidence. The album is a great mix of traditional folk, protest music, and folk-rock--truly one of Ochs' finest.

During his short life -- Phil Ochs ended his own life almost exactly one year to the day after hostilities in Vietnam ended -- he was known as much for his politcs as his artistry, and he probably wouldn't have had it any other way.
