Argent
'S/T'
Epic, UK, 1969
EPIC 63781
THEIR DEBUT AND RAREST album from this extremely well respected British (Hertfordshire, based) progressive rock band fronted by keyboard wizzard Rod Argent with guitarist/songwriter Russ Ballard weaving an extra portion of magic.
Something of an experimental affair introducing them - post Zombies of course - to the new world of progressive rock and finds the band in a confident mood rising to the technical challenges like a beautiful mature Swan emerging from an ugly duckling. The music is big and bold - Ballard's songs stand bright and proud fully confirming his reputation as one of the world's greatest writers.
Pressing: Epic, UK, 1969 - Orange label
Vinyl: Nice clean and shiny condition. No spindle marks, no scratches and no other signs of any use. Grades as top archive MINT! You won't find a better copy.
Cover: Issued in a gatefold 'digipak' style cover (which is notoriously difficult to find without massive wear and tear) nice and clean and designed by Hipgnosis. Sharp corners (lightly rubbed), no dings, no bends, light ring wear just beginning, no split seams and no creases. Spine is a little flattened. Cover displays only the lightest signs of storage wear - nothing to really describe. Impossible to find like this after 55 years. Grades as top Ex+
