Description

VERY WELL RESPECTED debut album from Aussie prog poppers Ariel, "Strange Fantastic Dream" from 1973 on the Aussie EMI label.  Great fluid guitar, catchy melodies and a varied selection of styles made this a favorite in its homeland, but its beautiful fantasy artwork cover perhaps promised progressive rock fans more of a Yes/Greenslade/Genesis sound, which this is not.  The drug paraphernalia images DID create a controversy however!

Much scarcer original controversial cover - you'll find five or six alternate covers (and it's ugly to be honest) on here, and only one other of these.  Beautiful gatefold is in NEAR MINT shape and it has the lyric foldout insert too!

Let's be honest - vinyl grading these days is very subjective.  That's why I'll give you some soundclips with each auction so you can judge for yourself how the album sounds - every clip comes from the album you're bidding on.  I'd say this one plays VG+ to VG++, but you can listen to the soundclips at the very bottom of this listing.

I will combine shipping on multiple wins, nudge nudge wink wink say no more.  Domestic US shipping is $4 per album at media mail rates, with each additional album adding just $1 more.  Shipping to Canada is $15 for the first album, $3 each additional.  Shipping everywhere else is $24 for the first album, $5 for each thereafter.
