GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Note : musica e direzione orchestrale di Armando Trovaioli. Ottime musiche che seguono le differenti trame ed ambientazioni dei tre episodi che compongono il film. Il primo episodio, " ADELINA " (11 brani che prendono l'intero lato A), è interamente basato su temi ed atmosfere derivanti dal tradizionale folclore musicale Napoletano con canzoni interpretate da Michele Mattera e brani strumentali sapientemente modernizzati da Trovaioli. A questa generale impostazione del primo lato si discosta in parte " " TENE 'A PANZA " nelle sue due versioni. La prima (2'42") è un divertente cha cha cha sottolineato da un coro di ragazzini, la seconda (4'10") è ricca di piacevolissime sonorità jazz. Il secondo lato vede il jazz dominare incontrastato con sei magnifici brani.  Tre si trovano nel secondo episodio " ANNA " : " ANNA WITH THE ROLLS " (3'55") con piano e sax tenore in grande risalto, " DESCANSADO " (4'08") una raffinatissima bossa-jazz e " FLOWERS FOR A POOR MILLIONARE " (3'34") con una strepitosa esecuzione pianistica. Gli altri sono nell'ultimo episodio " MARA " dove l'organo Hammond con elettrizzanti fraseggi sottolinea due brani piacevolmente jazzistici : " MARA " (3'15"), adattissimo per un'elegante festa da ballo, e " MARA - END TITLE " (2'05"). Infine il sofisticato jazz di " PORTRAIT OF M.M. " (3'30"). I due rimanenti brani del secondo lato contengono piacevoli atmosfere romantiche. 19 tracce.

Notes : music and orchestra Armando Trovaioli. An excellent score which follows the different plots and settings of the three episodes which compose the movie. The 1st episode " ADELINA " - 11 tracks which take entirely the first side - is mainly based on Neapolitan folk music with songs performed by Michele Mattera and instrumental themes with the wise and modern arrangements of Trovaioli. Furthermore the two versions of " TENE 'A PANZA ", the first (2'42") is an amusing cha cha cha performed by a children's chorus, the second (4'10") features very nice jazzy sonorities. Jazz is the master of the second side with six exciting tunes. All the three tracks of the 2nd episode " ANNA " : " ANNA WITH THE ROLLS " (3'55") with piano and tenor sax in prominence, " DESCANSADO " (4'08") a very refined bossa-jazz and " FLOWERS FOR A POOR MILLIONARE " (3'34") with a superb piano performance. On the 3rd episode " MARA ", Hammond comes magnificently on stage with exciting improvisations in two tracks : " MARA " (3'15"), well suitable for a dancing party and " MARA - END TITLE " (2'05"). In addition to these last tunes the sophisticated jazz on " PORTRAIT OF M. M. " (3'30").  The remaining two tracks of the second side feature pleasant romantic themes.  19 tracks.
