Description
ARNOLD'S WRECKING CO. -- hard to find, original 1973 U.S. album. Increasingly sought-after soundtrack LP to this little-known hippie/counter-culture movie featuring a combination of bizarre-o, drug-themed spoken word segments and some top-notch late 1960's-sounding Westcoast Psych/Mainstream Rock tracks from the local Philadelphia-area band Adom including the Buffalo Springfield-meets-Quicksilver-ish "Odd Ball," greasy rocker "Gimme Some" and others. Best-known track here is "Marijuana/The Story of Dope" on Side Two which sounds like a very stoned Fugs/Holy Modal Rounders moaning "Marijuana" over and over ... Gonzo, ultra-primitive cover artwork is also a big plus. See photo for track list. Cover: VG+, ring wear and wear at corners, removable price sticker upper right front, small 1/2" tear back cover right edge, light age stains back cover upper left. Record: VG++/VG+++, very light surface discoloration in one spot on Side Two apparently from original printing defect (does not affect play), overall excellent, on East Coast private label, U.S. press.
