Description
For auction is ART BLAKEY and the JAZZ MESSENGERS' "Ritual!" on Pacific Jazz M-402, MONO, DG, 1957. With Jackie McLean, Sam Dockery, Bill Hardman and Spanky DeBrest.
SOUND: NM
It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. The sound is clean, clear and powerful! Delightful! For absolute completeness, I heard a single, teeny "tic" in the very first cut. That is all... This playback will blow your socks off!
VINYL: VG+/NM
The vinyl is lovely and clean. Under extreme light, there are are a couple faint scuffs. Completely superficial. The deep-grooved maroon PJ labels are beautiful, with only a faint spindle mark either side.
JACKET: VG+
The jacket is outstanding in almost every way! The only thing that keeps it from a solid NM grade is some slight, routine wear near the four corners, and a tiny split in the bottom center edge. Otherwise, solid and nice all-around. The sleeve is heavy cardboard, and the front and back covers are extremely bright and clean. Beautiful!
The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.
This super-cool record is in gorgeous condition! Plays fantastic! No reserve, bidding starts at $30.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material. Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
