Description

ART BLAKEY And The Jazz Messengers (Art Blakey with Lee Morgan, Benny Golson, Bobby Timmons and Jymie Merritt, recorded by Rudy Van Gelder, October 30, 1958.) BLUE NOTE BLP 4003. Believed ORIGINAL PRESSING. (White-Blue labels. Side 1 label reads 'BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC - NEW YORK USA'. Side 2 has Deep-Groove and reads 'BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC - 47 WEST 63RD - NYC'. Both sides of record have 'ear' in 'dead wax'. Bottom of back cover reads 'BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23'). NOTE: The word "Moanin'" does NOT appear on either the cover or the labels, except as part of the tune titles. (In other words, Moanin' isn't shown as the album title.) The tunes are: Moanin', Are You Real, Along Came Betty, The Drum Thunder (Miniature) Suite: (First Theme: Drum Thunder; Second Theme: Cry A Blue Tear; Third Theme: Harlem's Disciples), Blues March and Come Rain Or Come Shine. 12" MONAURAL LP. Record evidences a few superficial scuffs, none of which affect sound quality, which is graded as NEAR-MINT (NM). High-Gloss finish cover has a faint, inconspicuous ringwear outline and back cover evidences a very modest degree of wear. Upper left hand corner of cover is scuffed (to the extent of perhaps 1/4") and lower corners show slight wear. Overall condition and appearance of (unmarked) cover are excellent. (Re "PAYMENT METHODS": I accept U.S.$ Money Orders and personal checks, reserving the right to allow 2 weeks for personal checks to clear.
