Welcome To Subterranean Records

As some of you may know, after 17+ years of doing business in New York City we were forced to close our retail shop on February 1st, 2008. Due to insane increases in rents in our area we decided not to re-open but rather sell the remaining stock from our shop here on eBay's pages. There will be some exceptionally rare items from both our shop and my own personal collection.

Item: Rare original Blue Note 4029 vinyl LP of "The Big Beat" from Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers. This is an original first pressing on the 47 West 63rd NYC label . It's deep groove on both sides with rvg stamp and the "ear" logo in the trail off. The vinyl is VG+ with a few light surface blemishes. These blemishes have no affect on the performance or fidelity of the LP. The labels have a few light spindle marks. The laminated cover has no ring wear, no seam splitting or spine wear. There's a small ding on the top right corner as well as on the top right edge. The back cover as you can see has July 6, 1960 on the top middle written in blue ink, there's also some light stain on the top left approx. 3/4" x 1-3/4".
