Description

ARTHUR NOIEL
Unknown Texas soul

Don’t you just love it when a new soul masterpiece comes out of obscurity? This one has it all, an impassioned vocal, a shout and cry, and a great arrangement that’s not so sophisticated as it sounds like a major label release, but not so small either. Just right.

Arthur Noiel cut this one in 1966 for the Brownfield label in Ft. Worth, Texas. He was 29 at the time and I can’t find that there was ever another record by this soul master. The killer on the topside is “It’ll Make You Holler” which has him going thru an emotional breakdown.

On the flip is “She Don’t Love Me” which is more of a melodic ballad with a nice spoken bit in the middle. No mention of who’s the band on this one but it’s likely it’s somebody like Louis Howard’s group.
