Description
ASA DUNCAN & FRANK SULLIVAN -- Sing Holiday -- hard to find, original 1970s (?) U.S. album. For fans of Private / Strange / Weird / Outsider Music type LPs, this features a group of middle school children singing original songs written and performed by long-haired hippie Frank Sullivan and partner Asa Duncan, pictured on the phenomenal Outsider Art back cover (this alone is almost worth the price of admission.) Highlights include the holiday themed Rock / Pop numbers "The Sham-Rock" and the terrific "It's Halloween" with groovy Santana-type backing, and arguably the LPs strongest track, the haunting Vietnam War protest number "The Heroes" which features children singing a plaintive number about the futility of sending young men off to die in war. (Crazy that this made it onto a children's record -- but that was the time period.) This was apparently a local Ft. Worth, Texas production, and I've never seen another copy. Cover: VG+, light ring wear and wear at corners. Record: VG-/VG, moderate scuff on Side Two, light-to-moderate surface wear and marks on both sides, overall fairly clean and plays well, on Harris Music private label, U.S. press.
