Description

Rare Beethoven Fifth Symphony “Leonore” Overture No.3. Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Andre Cluytens. HMV 1st Stereo pressing gold/cream label.

HMV Records (Cat.No. ASD267). Condition: Cover: Vg+ / Disc: Good-

The cover has some peeling of the laminate to the opening of the sleeve and some discolouration to the back. Overall graded as VG+

Visually the disc looks in at least Excellent condition, it has a couple of visible surface marks which cannot be felt by lightly running fingers over the surface. Playing wise the record is split into Leonore Overture & Symphony No.5 - 4 Movements. Side 1(Leonore & Movement 1) has some significant background crackle through Leonore it also has x7 audible clicks just into the start and then approx 14 clicks approx 4 mins in. Movement 2 plays well there is some light background crackle but only apparent during the quiet parts. Side 2 has background crackle through Movement 3 and also has an audible click that starts in the middle of the piece and continues until the end of that movement (approx 5 mins). Movements 3 & 4 play well with just background noise during the quiet parts. Overall graded as Good-.
