Near Mint (NM) No marks or very minimal short faint marks or sleeve removal marks visible under an electric light, no spindle marks on the labels. Minimal background noise expected after cleaning
EX+ At least one obvious light non-sounding mark but otherwise NM, or a small amount of faint marks or sleeve removal marks visible under an electric light. Some background noise expected but could play NM
EX Maybe a few obvious light non-sounding marks or a few faint marks or sleeve removal marks visible under an electric light. Some background noise expected, more than an EX+. I only list rare or sought-after records in this grade
VG+ Anything with a sounding mark - if in doubt I will play over a potentially sounding mark to test it. This may include an otherwise NM record. Or a record with obvious wear and plays a bit noisy with a few pops and clicks expected. I only list rare or sought-after records in this grade. A sounding mark will be clearly visible and can usually be felt by running a fingernail lightly across it
Sleeve/Box gradings
Near Mint (NM) No shelf wear or minimal edge creases
EX+ Clean and tidy, minimal shelf wear or a few very light edge creases, or some very minor laminate peel
EX Tidy but some obvious corner or edge creases, visual defects including short minor tears, pen writing, laminate peel, short corner tears, minor splits
Anything worse than this is not graded - I will state the fault
Please note that no vinyl record will play completely silent, even a top copy Near Mint. Vinyl of course sounds better than CD in general, but if you have zero or minimal tolerance of vinyl noise a CD is the recommended format. I will only test for sounding marks that are clearly visible in normal indoor light and/or can be felt with a finger nail. I do not count fine hairline marks that are difficult to see in normal indoor light as surface marks because they introduce light background noise at most rather than the loud intrusive clicks or ticks of a sounding mark. Also many records have a slight warp or dishing caused from the production process. I don't count this as a fault if it does not produce a sounding fault, usually skipping or a thud caused by a jumping stylus. You should also set-up your tone-arm and stylus weight by recommended methods so that it tracks correctly and can deal with slight warps and other minor production faults.
Full Money Back Guarantee - If the item plays not as described just return it in the same condition you received it and I will give you a full refund. Contact me first please to explain the problem. I value my customers - if you have any problems please don't open a dispute or give negative feedback before you have contacted me – I will always do my best to resolve any issues. Please have reasonable expectations, records are not play tested unless stated. The quality of playback can almost always be improved by cleaning on a professional machine such as a Moth, Okki Nokki or Nitty Gritty.
Sorry no zero feedback bidders thanks unless it is buy-it-now and you ask me for clearance before buying
Packaging - Depending on thickness I use new strong mailers and strong cardboard stiffeners for 1 to 3 records and new cruciform cardboard mailers with edge/corner buffers for 2 to 6 records. Larger amounts will be boxed in a cardboard box fit for the purpose
Thanks for looking!
