All the  records this week came from a real audiophile (later I will be offering
discs from Reference records , Recut records Nimbus Supercut and MORE!!)

Supercut. Mastered and Pressed Exclusively for Readers of  PRACTICAL HI-FI  by Nimbus Records.

Nimbus Records have achieved somewhat of a legendary status within the audiophile circle for their 'Supercut' releases, which were only available by mail order through the Hi-fi magazine Practical Hi-fi in the early 1980s. Nimbus mastered each release from the original master tapes using the best available mastering processes.  Nimbus employed many techniques for each release that were not commonly used. For example, generally when bass moves from channel to channel on an LP, groove modulation is employed to reduce the movement of the stylus and this results in this bass being centered more over both channels. Most audiophiles would argue that this - and in fact anything, which changes the original recording should be avoided although this is common practice on most LPs.  Nimbus did not limit this, resulting in an outstanding pressing. Nimbus also had the ICI company (one of the UK's leading chemical companies) produce an extremely pure vinyl for the LPs, which has amazing frequency reproduction and is virtually noise free. Due to their rarity and small pressing quantities, they are often more expensive than audiophile LPs from other labels, but the sums paid can be justified by the outstanding quality of the pressings and the fact that they tend to rise in value over time and as such are deemed as investments by some audiophiles.

Pressed in tiny numbers and only available by Special Order. Less than 1000 were pressed
and not all were actually issued.  Slow take up from readers meant many were never released.

• NEAR MINT ~ audio inspection has revealed that the record plays noiselessly. If there are any surface marks these will be noted in the listing. 
• EXCELLENT ~ The record shows some signs of being played but there is very little lessening of the sound quality. There may be some light crackle but NO major problems like LOUD clicks. Occasional soft tics are acceptable. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. 
• VERY GOOD ~ The record has obviously been played many times but displays no  major deterioration in sound quality.  despite noticeable surface and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover on extra items without any major defects s acceptable
