Another from my personal collection. Atomic Rooster "In Hearing Of" 1971 1st UK issue the original 1st UK pressing! Purchased from new! This album was originally only ever played to record to tape and then stored in a case with the vinyl separated from the sleeve and cover for protection. This is how I have always stored my records. This is an early 1st UK variation so rare to find this  and complete! Features the earliest   A-1U B-1U matrix endings variation with  "1"to "1" Mother stampers on side one. The audio is to die for absolutely stunning through out! This is the best sounding copy that I have heard of this pressing! Final upgrade archive copy! On initial inspection the vinyl looks un-played  in my opinion No visable spider marks around the spindle hole, the original plastic can still be seen in the hole!  So rich and vibrant it nearly shook the house down. Super Vibrant Audio Only heard like this on earliest UK pressings!  Note: Please allow for isolated static type pop/crackle heard during some quieter places or in between tracks only.  (Note: Alowances must be made for these seventies pressings ticks and pops/crackle are common  The original 1st issue  un- laminated E.Day & Co Gatefold cover has no splits or tears super straight and clean graded excellent plus to Near Mint Very Rare indeed like this after 47 years!

In Hearing of is the third album by British rock band Atomic Rooster in 1971.






Although not included on the album, "The Devil's Answer" single was released just prior to it, becoming the band's highest chart success at number 4 in the UK.



This helped push the album to a number 18 UK chart placing, despite the fact that the four musicians pictured on the inside cover never played together.




The backing tracks (and some vocals) were recorded by Vincent Crane, John Cann and Paul Hammond, but Cann and Hammond were let go from the group soon after vocalist Pete French was drafted in.




The finished album's sound was dominated by Crane and Hammond, with many of Cann's guitar parts either not used or placed lower in the mix.







In addition, many of the songs were written by Crane, along with his first wife, Pat Darnell.


Atomic Rooster are a British rock band, originally formed by members of The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, organist Vincent Crane and drummer Carl Palmer.




Throughout their history, keyboardist Vincent Crane was the only constant member and wrote the majority of their material.



Their history is defined by two periods: the early-mid-1970s and the early 1980s.








The band went through radical style changes, but they are best known for the hard, progressive rock sound of their hit singles, "Tomorrow Night" (UK No. 11) and "Devil's Answer" (UK No. 4), both in 1971.

The labels.

The original Pegasus  labels are in awesome like new condition! (These looks superb as new in my opinion)!   Amaizingly I can not see any spider marks/trails, even when angled to the light and of coarse little if (no) spindle ware the hole is perfectly round. The original plastic can still be seen in the spindle hole! This has only ever been played a couple of times by me only.  So rare  for an album that is 47 years old! Impossible to find like this! very very collectable!

The vinyl.

The vinyl is absolutely superb! On initial visual inspection this looks like new and still retains its sheen from new! This is the original mega thick and heavy original pressing! Later press are much more flimsier! (please note this vinyl has only ever been  played a couple of times by me personally and I originally played this to record to tape! In the last 47 years this has been stored in a case with the vinyl separated from the sleeve and cover to prevent ring ware and damage. This is how I have always stored my records, and of course I played this again to play grade at very loud volume on a top system!  In fact even when I look at the playing surface angled to a strong light I find it hard notice no more than minor whispy surface sleeve removal marks. (Importantly,, Nothing that would cause any nasty loud constant clicks or pops). 

The Audio Quality

 I have played this through track for track prior to listing at very very loud volume on a top system! The moment the needle hits the playing surface it is obvious this vinyl has barely ever been played at all!  The audio quality is as you would expect when purchased new, superbe, TOP, TOP, TOP! cristal clear and extremely vibrant through out in fact this plays truly superb    This played through superb unbelievable audio seperationVery vibrant sounding audio separation only found like this on the earliest pressings. Early pressing makes all the difference! Any interferance was barely noticable on my systems extremely minimal in my opinion Note: some isolated static due to needing a constant cleaning noted may be heard in just isolated quieter places or in between tracks common on these seventies pressings. This vinyl has been stored separately from the cover in a poly sleeve for over 45 years! This is the way I always  have stores my records! The vibrancy of the audio on this pressing in my opinion is almost as good as it gets for a very early 1st issue variation!  I would class myself as highly critical and this is a truly exceptional sounding vinyl   Please check my completed listings of records that i have sold of this quality and you will see that i normally get it right! I would grade the audio at least better than excellent plus to near as mint through out! It is noted that debrit was seen on the playing surface after play, this will need a few plays and cleaning in between which will not only enhance the audio but reduce any static .

Please note! That i always make this disclaimer! Allowances must be made for these seventies pressings. Dirt and grit trapped in between the  record sleeve and record causes static/crackle. Please allow for the odd isolated static heard as mentioned previously, certainly not consistent throughout the audio. This is a genuine 47 year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 47 year old system! Genuinly only ever played two or three times times ever! Very very rare like this!

Points to note! This has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 45 years! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves from laying dormant causes static crackle\ticks! A constant clean before each play is recommended ! This would reduce any static and enhance the audio quality!

The Record Sleeve

This is a plain white paper record sleeve. no splits or tears. light creasing with age only.. Overall  clean.

The Cover

This is the original and earliest 1st UK issue E.J.Day & Co Ltd  printed un-laminated Gatefold cover! (No Barcode) .

I would actually grade this cover at very near as mint, actually quite amazing! Note Non of the usual nasty ring wear, superbe square spine and all text is readable. Basically a real beauty! Just try to find another copy in this condition after 47 years! Cover graded at least excellent plus to near mint!
