1969/UK/Polydor 583065……here’s a mintish original 1st pressing of this ultra rare and apparently withdrawn lp, thus making it one of the rarest titles on Polydor and in this condition, an absolute dream! The thin fragile black matte cover is in M- condition, gorgeous with no detractions, splits, wear or otherwise! The vinyl is in M- like brand new condition and was maybe played once before I played it, clean sweet sound with excellent fidelity! A TOP copy of this awesome lp for your collection!

Audience rose from the ashes of a semi-professional soul band named Lloyd Alexander Real Estate, which had included all the Audience members with the exception of Connor, who had unsuccessfully auditioned for the earlier band when John Richardson left to form The Rubettes. However, when Werth, Williams, and Gemmell decided to form their new band, it was Connor who came to mind as the right man to complete the line-up. Within weeks of starting rehearsals, Audience had acquired management, a publishing contract, a residency at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, and a recording contract with Polydor, with whom they recorded their first album Audience. The band, however, was less than pleased with the record company's promotional approach (a single, "Too Late I'm Gone" from the album had been planned and was cancelled), and went into hiding in Switzerland to avoid getting involved with banal publicity stunts. By the end of the year, the band was drawing public and journalistic acclaim for their songs, arrangements, and stage act.

MINT: as stated with no defects

NEAR MINT: as stated near Mint!, or Mint Minus, same thing, very clean with no defect to sound or visual appearance, one scuff or mark may be permitted but it will be mentioned in the description, a near Mint record looks and plays very clean

EXCELLENT: not much below near Mint, may have a delete hole and/or a minor defect or two not visually detracting from the cover, the vinyl will appear shiny and in clean condition with very minor defects not affecting the sound, still very clean and very collectable!

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal cover wear and/or delete/splits, still visually appealing, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much

VG+ a little more cover/ring wear and delete, splits etc., the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects, both cover and vinyl no matter the condition, I also play grade the records on high end equipment and will give an honest play grade as well as visual grade, considering the number of records I buy on line my grading is very conservative and fair.
