Many of today’s younger blues musicians, following the pattern established decades ago by Muddy Waters and many others, learn their first few songs on an acoustic guitar but quickly switch to electric when they join a band. With this album we find Doug MacLeod reversing that pattern; he has been widely acknowledged electric blues guitarist for many years, with a number of U.S. and European tours and several albums to his credit as leader of the critically acclaimed Doug MacLeod Band. But after years spent appearing at major blues festivals and  playing clubs, he recently disbanded the group, and with this debut recording for AudioQuest Music he returns to his first musical love, acoustic blues.

Doug was born in New York City on April 21, 1946. There was a great deal of musical talent in his immediate family; his mother played classical music, and his grandfather, Malcolm MacLeod, was a Gaelic folksinger who recorded for RCA. A stuttering problem in childhood led to his first musical attempts, when in his early teens he picked up a guitar and “music became my way to speak. “ In junior high school a friend taught him a few chords, and he then switched to playing bass in a couple of bands. His family moved to St. Louis, taking Doug along, and it was there that he first heard B.B. king playing his stinging brand of electrifying blues guitar in a small club setting,. It was a musical revelation. “I was just amazed at the sound.

I Have Fully Listened To This Superb Album On My Gold Finger MK II Cartridge, There Are Just Few Occasional Light Surface Noises In The Quiet Passages, And Five Subtle Isolated Soft Ticks On Both Sides . But The Soft Ticks Are Not Overwhelm The Divine Music, Still An Enjoyable Record .

Mint (M) : Album has been opened and most like unplayed and as close to new as possible.

Near Mint (NM) : Record appears as Mint condition with perhaps one spindle mark and no marks on the vinyl. Vinyl has original gloss.

Near Mint Minus (NM -) : Record visually appears as Near Mint condition but play with maybe few occasionally soft ticks. Vinyl has original gloss.

Very Good Plus Plus (VG++) : May have few superficial light marks like sleeve marks, scuffs or hairline. Maybe few occasionally soft ticks. Important details always describe out under condition in my listing. Vinyl has original gloss.

Very Good Plus (VG+) : May have some light scratches marks, There is some soft ticks and might have some pops. Important details always describe out under condition in my listing. Still well looked after with glossy vinyl.

Poor or Fair condition items : I do not sell.
