LP-Title: Carol Kidd – All My Tomorrows

This is the original first UK pressing from 1985 on ALOI RECORDS, AKH 005, a division of the Scottish LINN high-end company. Extensive liner-notes on the back. Pure audiophile sound !

Line-up: C.Kidd/vocals - S.Taylor/piano – A.Moore/acoustic guitar & bass – M.Smith/drums-plus: occ. string quartet and M.Taylor/electric guitar

From duets with just vocals and an acoustic guitar to trio-accompaniment, sometimes plus electric guitar and/or string quartet: this recording offers a variety of settings for C.Kidd’s beautiful voice, performing some of the finest jazz-standards out of the American songbook. Superb sound-quality, the rare original pressing is on the wantlist of most audiophile music lovers !
Condition: the record looks mint-/mint-- in daylight, under a strong light you see that both sides have a few papersleeve-lines, side 2 has 1 short superficial non-feelable mark/shadow, so I lower the visual grading to ex. I have listened carefully to the complete record: The first half minute of side 1 has a quieter intro before the band comes in, there's a minor background-crackling/4 soft tics. All other tracks play in mint- most of the time, there are just a few very occasional soft and distant singular background-tics, I think an overall conservative grading of the playback as ex- is justified.

The cover has some shelfwear on front and back, the bottom seam is intact, all seams/spine have a little rub, there's a burst/split for ca. 1 inch (=2,54 cm) in the middle of the upper seam and a burst(but no split) for ca. 0,5 inch (= 1,25 cm) on the spine, overall ex-/vg+ for the cover.

Grading & Cleaning:

  • the record has been cleaned on my professional HANNL record cleaning machine

  • after that I playgraded it (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN:TU-3 Super Fine Line ( please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment )

  • I also visually graded the record under a strong light

  • only an unplayed record is mint, the highest grading for a used record is mint- ! My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg.

  • cleaned records are stored in a new deluxe innersleeve and they are placed in a new PVC protection-sleeve !
