Description
When Linn, the turntable people, realized that some of their favorite performances on records would soon fade away into inferior re-issues, they took matters into their own hands.
In the case of Julius Katchen’s fine piano work (especially with Istvan Kertesz at the helm of the LSO), Linn contacted Decca directly to obtain the original master tapes, so that they could re-tool and re-master and capture every ounce of the performances, in a modern high-quality pressing, which you have before you now.
It is quite extraordinary, the Ravel here picked by TAS magazine as one of the finest classical recordings every captured, and this the finest pressing ever made of it. And a wonder, it is, first note to last: Cover like new, record within is near mint, perhaps better.
Absolutely, positively not to be missed.
