AUTHENTIC ORIGINAL 1964 BEATLES PICTURE SLEEVE & RECORD
“CAN’T BUY ME LOVE”-”YOU CAN’T DO THAT”
Capitol Records 5150
EXCELLENT+ CONDITION
Here is the most sought after Capitol Records commercially issued Beatles picture sleeve
Only east coast straight cut sleeves were produced in very limited numbers
This sleeve was never easy to obtain, even when I purchased this one back in 1964
The Can’t Buy Me Love picture sleeve is the most rare of the standard sleeves issued with a Capitol Beatles single
Released at the height of Beatlemania in the USA (3/16/1964), “Can’t Buy Me Love” was a massive hit before a note was heard
Advanced sales alone surpassed 1 million copies
However, for some unexplained reason, the picture sleeve issued with the single was printed in extremely limited numbers
The record “Can’t Buy Me Love”-“You Can’t Do That” is the Beatles greatest double sided hit
Both sides show Lennon and McCartney at the peak of their Motown soul influence
I have graded the picture sleeve as excellent + based on Goldmine definitions
There is extremely minor impression to the sleeve (ringwear)
You have to be looking for it to see it
Bottom left corner shows slight wear (a little white)
Slight wear (white) on the bottom edge
Some slight age discoloration
No surface wear
No seam splits
No taped repairs
No writing on the cover
No spotting
No stains
No creases
No staples
No price stickers
I have graded the record as near mint based on Goldmine definitions
Both sides of the record appear virtually flawless
