Description

From the liner notes: "Abner Jay has been singing and playing these same songs for forty eight years. Abner plays and sings these songs in the original style. A one-man band, hambone and bone player, he plays a six string banjo, harmonica, bass, drums, cymbals and sings all at the same time..."

The album is great, and in great condition. Vinyl and Cover would qualify as Very Good +. The Lp features Abner Jay playing a couple originals as well as a number of Stephen Foster classics and other spiritual and Americana songs. On Brandie Records  - the LP is a true rare collectors item. Abner Jay is quickly becoming a long lost folk hero and his LPs are more difficult to find. No date for the vinyl, but description as 'real show nough bicentennial music' on cover indicates a 1976 release. Abner is gone now, but he is still a well loved and treasured American folk singer who eluded fame in his lifetime, but is now being newly discovered.
