AGALLOCHs ”Ashes Against The Grain” heißt der beeindruckende Nachfolger von ”The Mantle”, des innovativen Zweitwerkes von 2002, auf dem die emotionalen Widersprüche von Dark Metal, Folk und melodischen Harmonien miteinander verschmolzen wurden. Das Album beeinflußte viele jüngere Bands, die seither aufgetaucht sind, und doch waren nur wenige in der Lage, die dunkle Schönheit und die emotionalen Wunden, aus denen AGALLOCH ihre Musik schöpfen, einzufangen.
Mit ”Ashes Against The Grain” setzt die Band ihre musikalische Reise fort, immer einen Schritt voraus, ohne allerdings die Bodenhaftung ihrer Dark-Metal-Wurzeln zu verlieren. Das dritte Album vereint Elemente aus Black Metal, skandinavischem Progressive-Rock und Post-Rock mit dem schwermütig-nachdenklichen Stil, der für die Band so typisch ist.
