So why this instead of the various more recent legit reissues? Because this is the original mix! Yes, that's right, starting with the Little Wing reissue, this garage-kraut underground classic was treated to a remastering including narrowing of its stereo image, a bunch of compression and bright EQ, and what sounds like maybe some digital reverb to top it off. The 60s organ sound that makes this album so unique in its combination of a sound that is something like The Monks jamming with a very young Tony Iommi was changed as the organ was pushed way to the back of the mix. All subsequent LP and CD reissues come from that new mix/remastering approach. This old reissue (probably from late 80s) is the only way to hear the original mix unless you want to lay out maybe 1k to buy an original LP. This SLAYS the newer versions with better separation and dynamics.
