Description

Alan Lee Quintet Gallery Concerts Australian Jazz Jazznote

“Gallery Concerts 1973” by the Alan Lee Quintet and friends includes Lee on vibraharp, Tony Gould on piano, Ray Martin on bass and Ted Vining (drums) with contributions from Jeannie Lewis, a string quartet and others. The 7 pieces are arrangements of classical works (is John Lewis’ “Sketch” classical?) by Faure, Stravinsky, Villa Lobos and Rodrigo. An Australian stereo pressing on the Cum Quat Label (CQR 12-03), the record has some surface scuffs, but no scratches is of very good appearance and it plays and sounds very well with consistant low-level surface noise. The cover has rubbed with some creases.
