Description
This listing is for a vintage vinyl LP of the free jazz album by Albert Ayler Trio called Spiritual Unity.
This specifically is a mid to late 1960s era mono pressing reissue released by ESP-Disk' in the US with catalog # 1002.
It most likely dates from between 1966 and 1969 based on the address printed on the jacket and the center labels.
This is because the cover and labels both have the 156 5th Avenue address, which was used during this time period.
The original issue has an earlier 180 Riverside Dr address. While the 1970s pressing have a 290 West End Avenue address on labels.
Record Condition:
Visible surface wear is present in the way of some light hairline scratches and scuff marks.
There is also a a small dimple in the vinyl on Side B, which was not uncommon as far as manufacturing defects go during that era.
Clean center labels.
The vinyl still has a decent gloss.
There's also some light dust/dirt, so a thorough deep cleaning would remove that and probably brighten the sound and appearance even more.
Industry Grade: I would grade this as a very solid VG .
Jacket Condition:
Signs of shelf wear present on edges, spine, and corners. With the top edge having the most wear.
Some ring wear is present, but it is more prominent on the back cover than the on the front side.
Some cardboard creasing and other blemishes are present.
No seam splits as the jacket is structurally sound.
Inner Sleeve: Generic paper inner sleeve.
Industry Grade: VG.
