Description

An original 1st press of Killer on Warners Green label. Matrix A1/B1. Earliest copies omit 'Made In The UK'. This example omits on one side. Well worth going for the early copies they were pressed heavy. The other reason, as every serious collector will know, the original copies had a pull-out calendar with Alice in a noose! And this is the original pull-out calendar version [calendar still in place]. FURTHER POINT - the calendars clearly ran for a while and were subsequently re-printed for 1973. A true 1st press calendar should read '1972' as you would expect for a winter 1971 1st release.. We also have an original inner from the time. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition having only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of slight marks per side - nothing heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation per side. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Nice clean signal throughout. I did detect a few very slight crackles in one spot per side. E.g. right at outset of Babies...which otherwise plays superb. So, don't expect total perfection...but to be frank there's very very little to turn your nose up at here. It even plays clean into the lowkey drum rolls that close out side 2. Impressive. One isolated tick in 'Nervous'. Really superb energy in the audio and good detail too. Highly recommended. Signature atop side 1 label.
Cover (Vg+) Its the original sought after version and in very decent condition over all. A lovely clean front with less surface wear than you usually find. The rear looks superb without issue.  A bit of light handing evidence in the interior. The calendar is still 70% joined at the perforation edge which is good to see. Alice picture and calendar are unmarked in excellent order. There's a bit of edge wear in places, but nothing unsightly really. Text on the spine is 90% legible. But expect a bit of wear and discolouration. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. Bag present. No splits.
