Description
Here is what I would call a better than average condition Alice in Wonderland record and picture book from the early fifties. It corresponds to the Disney movie of the same time. This has two 78 rpm records, and you turn the pages to follow along. looks like 22 pages of fine artwork total, not including the end pages Has some great Disney talent on it like Ed Wynn and Sterling Holloway, and the rest of the cast from the original film.
I've seen a few others of these, and frankly the sleeves for the 78s were not very well done back in the 50s, so I have reinforced these with acid-free non-yellowing library book repair tape that is super clear (and pretty expensive.) otherwise the records don't stay in the album. Now they do. I also put a strip on the first page to the cover, -- see second picture.
I don't know how to grade these records but I would say they are okay to good. There is a bit of tape residue on one near the beginning. Now I notice a lot of vendors don't have 78 players so they don't say how they play, but I do have one and just played these and they sound fine. There are a few cracks and pops here and there but most 78s sound that way, any imperfections speed by pretty quick.
Again, colors are vibrant and book is in fair to good condition. Records sound fine. There is this new movie coming out so this would make a great gift to an afficianado or add to your collection. Thanks for looking.
