What a lucky find - the initial 1990 12" release of this monster dance record, here labelled as the Definitive Mix but which was quickly retitled the Sauna Mix and reissued in a full black, grey and white sleeve.
The catalogue number 613 509 confirms that this is definitely the Sauna Mix version.
In 1991, it was re-released with the Classic Mix as the A-side and the Sauna Mix was gone forever. To this day, it's most people's favourite and definitely the DJ's choice. The bassline is just irresistible!
This copy is in superb sounding condition - plays beautifully - pressed bang-on centre with lovely sharp top-end and that shimmering tambourine and crisp hi-hat.
There are a few light surface marks but 12" singles famously play better than they look owing to the depth of the groove. There is no audible interference right through to the end of the fade and even across the run out, hence my Near-Mint grading.
If there were no marks, it would be a definite 'Mint' but to my ears, the sound couldn't be any better and I know this song like the back of my hand.
It comes in a plain black sleeve with label-sized cut out holes which is in perfect condition.
I haven't played side 2 as these mixes are readily available on later releases and they wouldn't be your reason for buying this. If you want a description of these too, just ask and I'll give them a spin.
