Description

'All Things Must Pass'. George Harrison. UK 1st pressing, 3 LP box-set.
This is an original UK 1st pressing box set of George Harrison's 'All Things Must Pass' that has been in my possession for some time. It's really in lovely condition - I've only ever played the vinyl once to test - and it looks quite likely that it hasn't been played before (or, if it has, only a handful of times). (Please note that there is a bit of dust visible on the photos - but it is literally that - dust - I didn't want to over-clean the vinyl, preferring to leave it to the buyer to clean as you see fit.)
These are the 1st UK stereo pressings on Apple STCH 639 (STCH 1-639 for first album, STCH 2-639 for second, STCH 3-639 for third). The first two albums have the orange Apple labels, and the third the green Apple Jam label.
These are the matrix marks:
Side 1: YEX 817-1U Side 2: YEX 818-1U Side 3: YEX 819-1U Side 4: YEX 820-1U Side 5: YEX 821-1U Side 6: YEX 822-1U
I'm grading the vinyl as NEAR MINT. I'm tempted to say it is MINT, but I don't want to say that and then have someone quibble about a tiny flaw. But they really are as good as you're going to see for an almost 50-year-old set of LPs.
The box itself is in Excellent condition - there are a couple of faint scuff line marks to the back of the box (two are 2cm in length and like a pencil-line in width, the other 4cm in length), but the cover photo is great and clean, the shape excellent and the gold lettering on the box spine beautiful and clear. Inside the left-hand side of the box has the table of contents etc. on the orange background paper (with "Made and printed in Great Britain" at the bottom). This one comes with the removable orange corrugated cardboard spacer in the right-side of the box, which I prefer to the plainer alternative that was also issued at the time. I think it looks better as it matches the opposite side.
The three original record sleeves are included, printed on purple, grey and olive paper (coloured both inside and out) with the lyrics printed on them (and the Apple Jam logo on reverse for record 3). The bottom joins (seams) on records 1 and 2 are slightly coming apart, a minor flaw that's not unexpected for this age of paper. The Apple Jam one doesn't have this problem and is in fine condition. (Interestingly, all three record sleeves have a tiny circular "Printed in USA" symbol in the bottom right-hand corner of the rear side of the sleeves - this is as expected, see: https://www.discogs.com/George-Harrison-All-Things-Must-Pass/release/8599958)
The box set also comes with the large poster, which is in excellent condition, having clearly never been put up and always stored in the box. No pin holes, seam splits or blu-tack marks etc. It has "Printed in Great Britain   STCH 639" in the bottom right-hand corner.
So yes, this really is an wonderful condition copy. Please email me with any questions.
I will post out via Royal Mail Special Delivery (costing £9.50), which will insure the records for up to £500.
Please note that I'm not offering this for sale abroad, as I want to send it with an insured postal service.
