Description

For your consideration a rare piece of autographed black history memorabilia on record entitled "Althea Gibson Sings". The inscription on the back of the LP reads: To Ray, Wishing us a wonderful relationship, Sincerely Althea. This album came out of an apartment of an elderly black women. Her deceased husband had the record collection who must have know Mrs. Gibson. This is only speculation. There is no letter of authenticity of the autograph as well. The record was mixed in with the other 7 primarily gospel records concurrently listed. All from the late 50's early 60's.

Mrs. Gibson won the French, Wimbledon, and the U.S. Open from '56 to '58

Cover: Very clean. Corner wear. Slightly curved.
