Ludwig v. Beethoven: String Quartets Opus 127, 130, 131, 132, 133, 135

Performed by the Amadeus Quartet (Norbert Brainin, Siegmund Nissel, Peter Schidlof, Martin Lovett).

Original first German DGG-Stereo-pressing from 1963 with "Alle Hersteller/ Big Tulip"-rim. Printing date in booklet: 11/63. Article-No. SLPM 138537/ 138540. Year of pressing ('62 resp. '63) in dead wax. 4-LP-Box with 40-page booklet.

The record has a tiny "Unverkaeufliches Muster (sample record, not for sale)" -stamp on one side of every label (you can see it on the photo) and on the back of the box. DGG marked records this way when they were presented to record-dealers as free samples. It's about 1cm in length.

• Condition Cover: EX to NM. Minor storage wear only. Massive linen/cardboard-box in beautiful condition.
  

• Condition Vinyl: NM. No signs of wear. This is actually rather mint as there is no spindle wear and no signs of usage in any form. Records come in original imprinted DGG innersleeves.
  

• Condition Booklet: NM.
  

Grading-System:

As from now on I will exclusively use the following record-gradings:

• MINT :

Vinyl: Mint is the grade for a flawless record. No scratches, no spindle wear, assumed or known to be unplayed. Factory sealed records are always assumed to be mint, too. I will usually not grade open records mint but use the NM grade instead, except for absolutely flawless records.

Covers: Flawless cover, no signs of wear.

• NM :

Vinyl: Virtually flawless record, with only the slightest possible wear i.e. minimal spindle-wear from one or two turnings or one or two hair-scuffs from removing the record from the cover. A NM-record is not perfect, but as close to perfect as it gets for a used record and it should play without any surface noise.

Covers: Virtually flawless cover, with only the slightest possible wear allowed.

• EX :

Vinyl: used, but still in great collectable shape. Only minor scuffs from e.g. removing the record from the innersleeves and a couple of spindle marks are allowed. Visual inspection will allow the assumption that these play without background-noise.

Covers: Minor wear allowed, but the overall impression should still be very close to new. Very slight ring-wear, discoloration and small price-stickers may occur.

• VG+ :
  

Vinyl: used, with some more obvious signs of wear but still in very nice collectable shape. The VG+-records I offer will still always be discs that have been taken good care of and they will show no deep scratches. They may, however, play with an occasional tic here and there.

Covers: Covers are still in very nice shape, but signs of ageing and usage are more obvious as on EX-records. Covers may have price-stickers, ring-wear, little scuffs and spine wear, but the overall-impression will still always be that of a well-preserved record.

I won’t sell records that rate below VG+, except for extremely seldom and sought after items. These will always be described in detail !

A further word about my record-grading:

All records are described as accurately as possible and I will always prefer a more detailed depiction of the actual status, but usually I’ll only visually grade the records.

Please note that old records that were stored in shelves for a long time might have static noises even if they still look like new. Professional cleaning will almost always solve that problem.

Dust on records will generally not influence my gradings but if records appear to have stronger signs of soiling, I will give them a professional cleaning and playgrade them to get a more objective view on what their condition is actually like.

In these cases I will always mention it in my description.

Shipping & Handling Information

Attention US-Buyers: Shipping costs to the States are not displayed correctly by the automated calculating tool as eBay prescribes that they mustn't be higher than 4$ in this category. I cannot ship the record(s) to the States for this amount as the item-location is Germany ! Correct shipping rates are displayed in the tabella below.

• If it's better for the buyer, I will adjust shipping costs according to recent dollar-exchange-rates, so it might be a little less.

• I will always send an invoice, please wait until you receive it before you pay !

• I will use the cheapest rate for eBay’s automated calculating, but I do not recommend intercontinental surface-shipping as transit-time may be up to 2 months, depending on the destination!

• I combine shipping costs for multiple purchases, please contact me for details. Shipments will latest ship on Saturdays after payment is received, I will, however, always try to send them out as quickly as possible.

• I exclusively use cardboard-boxes that are specially designed for the safe transport of records.
