Description
This is Blue Note Records BLP 1503, The Amazing Bud Powell Volume 1, a blue and white, microgroove, deep groove, Lexington Ave. label, flat rim original 12" mono issue of this classic record with the ear (p) mark stamped and RVG etched in the dead wax. The record is in VG(+) condition (a strong VG) showing some light marks and playing with light background chatter well under the music, mostly at the beginning of each side and between tracks, but with no distortion of the music and no skips. The original New York 21 frame cover has some damage on the lower left that is present on the back as discoloration and loss but is intact. The labels are excellent. The record was played on a Linn Sondek LP12 in mono mode and cleaned ultrasonically and on a VPI 17. This is still a collector's grade copy of this wonderful recording.
