Description

NM disk  |  VG+ cover w/shrink wrap still on.  Cut out hole in upper left corner.  Ring wear mark at top of shrink wrap on front & back covers, but not on actual cover.  No blemishes, writing, seam splits, or corner bends.

As you've probably discovered, I only list NM or VG+ disks and VG cover or better (unless the lp has social, cultural, or historical value).  Grading is visual and conservative.  All lps are original and from my personal collection.  Most have not been played since the first month of buying them, so there's been very little wear to the lp & cover.  All disks will be clear plastic sleeve covered and mailed in a professional, cardboard mailer with additional cardboard if needed & media mailed that day.  If curious about any other lps let me know your wants, I have a few thousand here and I can't take them with me.

Were this the only Amboy Dukes compilation (which it more than likely would be if Ted Nugent had not gone on to bigger things) it would more than serve the needs of the casual listener who knows this band only for "Journey To The Center of The Mind". In fact, even with 1999's "Loaded For Bear" being as generous as it is at 18 tracks, this is a case where less may be more. Seeing as Nugent's fans may not exactly be seeking the soulful posturing and jazz/blues inflected playing found on The Amboy Dukes albums (and, not to mention the lack of Nugent vocals) this brief compilation, were it still available, would be the best way for them to investigate this area of Nugent's career without fear of overkill. Can't complain about the track listing, and it includes three songs which didn't make it onto "Loaded For Bear".

This rare LP, when it turns up, would fetch good sums. To recompile it with CDs would not be cost-effective, either. The original three albums these tracks were drawn from were issued briefly on CD in the early 90s but are no longer available and go for astronomical prices when they turn up.

Sad that this compilation never made it to CD in Sony's "Nice Price" series.

If you run across it and you don't have the original studio albums, by all means, go for it.     (Critic)
