Description

Up for auction is a Early 78 RPM Chinese 10" American Graphophone (Columbia) Phonograph Record. This record has a patented Date of Dec. 10, 1901 and has a record number of 15731. It has an American Flag with 45 Stars as well as a Qing Dynasty Chinese Imperial Flag as well. The US Flag with 45 stars was in service between 1896 to 1908 and the Chinese Imperial Flag was in sevice between 1890 to 1911. This dates this record somewhere between the patented Date of 1901 to 1908 at the latest. On the back of this single-sided record is an early Label from the American Graphophone Company of Bridgeport. Conn. and at the top of the Label it states: "Where Graphophones and Columbia Records are Made". It is also Ink Stamped over the top of the back label "National Record Exchange". This I believe means it was an Very Early Columbia Pressing. The record came from an estate and is in excellent original condition and was housed in a Columbia Record Sleeve. It has very light minor scratches but plays beautifully. It will be packed extremely well. Please check my other listing for more early Columbia Records and Columbia Catalog. This record has a low starting price and will be sold with no reserve. Please see ALL the pictures and thanks for looking!
