Description
**PLEASE** READ! Condition of items and any caveats are at the *bottom* of every item description (see below). MINT means played once. Sealed means sealed - not played at all. VG cond. might be mint, but I reserve that for items I have just opened, so it ranges from excellent to very good cond. If there are any blemishes, they are slight and inconsequential. Also, please note that all payment options and most postage costs are listed below. My snailmail is listed below in the "Payment Instructions" at the hottom of this page (PLEASE read before bidding!!!!)and*should* be at the bottom of paypal automailers AND available via the ebay "checkout" section as well if you need it. Thanks. Now, for your description:
Infos (below) from discogs.com. Excellent condition. Analord 10 collector's press (180gm vinyl) on Rephlex in deluxe leather binder w/embossed logo on front and sleeves for entire Analord series. Functional and aesthetic :-). Great tracks - return to form for RDJ. The wait is over. This is already OOP and cost me a small fortune to buy and import. Yours for the bid! One note of caution: it will weigh very close to 4 lbs. packed (it's hefty!) and be a challenge for me to find the proper box - but I will. Just know that unless you go media mail (stateside), it may cost a few bob to ship.

I've notice, reading the comments in the discogs forum about this release, that probably i'm the only one that i really love this release. Perfect sound, lush melodies, typical acid basslines, right beat.
Old stuff? I'd like to have tons of theese "old stuff".
Analord 10 is one of the most intriguing Aphex Twin releases. Released in a limited run and only available to order directly from rephlex, it nonetheless managed to generate huge hype, especially from the internet community.
Apparently recorded and produced using old skool analogue equiptment, I was expecting something that sounds similar to vintage Aphex such as Heliosphan or Polynomial-C. Instead, we have 2 tracks which are quite unlike anything Richard has produced before.
"Fenixfunk 5" is the more uptempo of the two tracks, and combines an electro/hip-hop style break, and a full workout of the vintage synths Richard has collected over the years. It actually kinda reminds me of "Camelot Jostle" by Ceephax Acid Crew, especially the main melody.
"Xmd5a" is less immediate, though ultimately the most successful of the two for me. It combines a slow breakbeat, a wicked acid line, and a strangely disjointed piano (which sounds like the same one he used for Drukqs). Initially quite hard to get into, it nonetheless has proven to be a bit of a grower for me.
To be fair, considering the massive hype surrounding this release, it was always going to be difficult to match expectations. The melodies are certainly not as memorable as the classic aphex tracks I mentioned previously, but then that particular era of music is over. A masterpiece it isn't, but analord 10 remains one of the better releases from RDJ, and proves that he is still able to produce interesting, innovative music, regardless of the equiptment he chooses to use.
SHIPPING: please note the difference between shipping costs for CDs and LPs! North America CDs:1st class = 1 item/1.50, 2/2.25, 3/3.25 for normal CD jewel cases.Extra heavy/odd packages may be slightly more. These rates apply to all US/Canadian/Mexican/P.R. destinations. Priority mail = 3.85 for up to 3 items. Insurance is optional but recommended; I cannot control the mails. Rates are 1.30 for up to $50, 2.20 for $50-$100 for U.S. destinations. For non-US insurance rates and specialty mailings (the above N. America /non-US rates are airmail), see the International Postage Calculator link below. I can also pack 6-8 normal CD jewels into a flat-rate priority mailer with bubblewrap for 3.85 for any **US** destination. If you prefer BOXED priority for CDs, email me with your zipcode and I will provide you with a shipping total, or you can go to the domestic postage calculator link just below and calculate it yourself (see estimated weights below) Large boxed CD orders can be shipped in new flat rate priority boxes for 7.70.
LPs(these are US rates only! see "international" below for those rates, please): I strongly recommend priority shipping as it is faster and more reliable than media mail. 1 LP , media mail is 2.00 for the first LP (includes pkging costs) and it is considerably cheaper to add additional records or CDs to the pkg. Email me for LP priority shipping costs with your zip code and I will give you a quote. 12"s and LPs can vary greaty due to vinyl weights and packaging differences.
Domestic and International Postage Calculator
(note: my zipcode is 48390 - you'll need that to calculate boxed priority rates AND all priority LP shipping). Priority shipping for an LP will run between 3.95 and 5.75, depending on your location/zip code.
INTERNATIONAL (for CDs only, see above for Canada/Mexico/Puerto Rico ): Most normally packaged CDs (single in jewel and digipaks) are 3.80 to most countries PER ITEM via regular airmail - however, I can ship 8-10 CD jewels bubblewrapped in large, flat rate Global Priority mailers for 9 usd and I can ship one jewel bubblewrapped for 5 usd in a small, flat rate GP mailer - at your request, I can pack up 3-4 CDs with artwork securely into each jewelcase for the flat rate, saving you a bundle on shipping charges. GP is also a faster (and therefore more secure) mailing option. Global Priority mailing is not available in all countries. The link below will guide you in determining whether it is available for your location or not and whether "specialty mailing (e.g., registration, insurance)" options are available and what they cost for each country:
LPs are going to run approx $9.85 upwards (i.e., at least) to ship via international airmail- Canada will cost approx. $4.40 for 1 LP airmail. Email me for surface mail costs (usually 4.45 for 1st lp), but please understand that surface mail commonly takes 4-8 weeks to arrive.
Click here for a currency converterWEIGHTS: figure about 3.5 oz. for an average CD in jewel case, 4.5 for a double CD. Post office rounds up if weights go over .5 oz. 1 cd with art (sans jewel) is about 1 oz. Digipaks with spine are about 2.5 oz. I will not normally ship in loose cardboard sleeves (for the CD's protection) unless you request it. I pack these into slimlines for safety, so weights are about what a normal CD jewel would be. Padded 6x9 envelopes (can hold 1-3 CDs - 3 is pushing it) weigh about 1 oz., a box w/packing which can hold 4-5 CDs is about 5 oz. LP weights vary widely according to packaging and vinyl thickness - email me for specifics about particular items.

I try very hard to do this properly and would expect the chance to show it. I encourage you to check my feedback .If it's something I did wrong, I will fix it . I don't jump the gun with negative feedback and I would appreciate the same consideration. If you have questions about an item/payment/shipping expectations which are not answered on this page (please look first), email me BEFORE bidding (as ebay reminds you to do). I will reply as soon as possible, but please understand that I work full time and I am a full time graduate student, so sometimes it takes me a minute to get back to you. If you bid, I expect that you know what you're bidding on and the conditions entailed in winning. If you win, I expect you to follow through. I am not a "store". I use ebay to support my music "habit" and rarely make money (if I do, it's offset by what I have spent) with it, so I don't have any surplus funds or time to spend dealing with deadbeats. If I ban you, you deserved it!
