Annette Funicello was an American teen idol from the 1960s and one of the most popular Mousketeers.

The 1963 Disney VISTA label LP entitled ANNETTE'S BEACH PARTY - from the AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL film was issued in both mono (BV 3316) and stereo (STER 3316). It's a kitschy memento of the first official "beach" movie.

The title track, plus "Secret Surfin' Spot" and "Swingin' and Surfin'" are by "Hot Dog Rog" Christian and Gary Usher. Christian wrote with Brian Wilson "Don't Worry Baby," "Little Deuce Coupe," "Spirit of America" and "Shut Down." He collaborated on "Dead Man's Curve," "Sidewalk Surfin'," "The Little Old Lady from Pasadena" and "Drag City." for Jan and Dean, plus contributed songs with Usher for the films  Muscle Beach Party  (1964),  Bikini Beach  (1964),  Ride The Wild Surf  (1964),  Beach Blanket Bingo  (1965),  Ski Party  (1965), BEACH BALL (1965) and CATALINA CAPER (1967).

Only half this program are tunes heard in the movie, that is tracks 1 - 5 on Side One plus "Swingin' and Surfin'," HOWEVER, these are not soundtrack dubs. In the film, "Beach Party" was performed by both Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon while "Don't Stop Now" was Frankie exclusively and "Promise Him Anything" was a spotlight for Dorothy Malone. Here it's all Miss F. thus the LP's name, "Annette's" Beach Party.

"California Sun" is Annette's cover of the #5 Hot 100 Rivieras hit.
Many here include vocal backing from the Disney studio chorus.
