No used vinyl will play without some noise, due to playing conditions, ie ,cheap old players, worn needle, needle wear, dirty hands/fingerprints, static, salt air, smoke etc.
All my records are visual & sound graded, and are cleaned regularly.
Gradings
Mint : Means absolutely perfect in everyway, often rumoured but rarely seen, still wrapped in original packing.
Near Mint : Shiny, with no visible defects, writing , stickers or other markings, obviously well cared for.
Very Good + or Excellent : May show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or scratches, that do not effect the listening experience,also slight warps that do not effect the sound are also OK.
Very Good : have some obvious flaws, They lack most of the original glossy lustre found on factory-fresh records, has surface noise, and some scratches, that may be audible,especially in the intro and endings.
Good : Good does not mean bad, the record still plays through without skipping, but has sufficient surface noise and groove wear, and label is worn, has markings, sticker, etc.
Poor or Fair: These records go for 0-5% of near mint prices, most likely end up in the bin, cracked, warped or skip/repeat, hardly audible.
