Description
Antique Gold Enamel Locket, a little over 1 inch, and it is gold color, not rose gold - my camera changes the color of things - do not know the age of it.- I do not know the year it was made - but I think it was a very long time ago. I think that it might be sometime around 1889's or 1900's that is what the person that sold it to us said, this locket has a very nice black enamel design on it, every Victorian, or Edwardian and it opens from the top of it. The design is in the front and the back has the same design on it. So both sides have the same design of the black enamel,
we bought this from a Ebay Seller that had a jewelry store. This Ebay seller I bought it from told me that he wanted to stamp the locket with the gold content but never did. He tested it and it was over 14 ct., but he never put it in the locket the stamp that he had. I took a picture of the opening of the locket but the light hitting the locket makes it look kind of color off but it isn't it is my cell phone camera that is doing that. I bought this locket 8 years ago, and it was a antique than - and it still is now. I know that it is real gold but the person that I bought it from told me that the locket when it was made - it was made so long ago that they didn't have to stamp it. This locket opens from the top - where I always get lockets that open like a book - this locket I have never wore because it opens from the top. I always wear lockets that open like a book, but I can't say that it was never used before me - I know that I never used it, but I have no idea who had it before me.
