This is an album that's been in my collection for more than 30 years, during my time at A&M. This album was never opened. You'll note from the photo that there is a cut in the bottom left corner—front view—which indicates the album was pulled from commercial inventory for use as a promotional copy. This is NOT a Japanese pressing, but is a true audiophile release, including vinyl, mastering and packaging.

“Wave" is the fifth studio album by Brazilian jazz musician Antônio Carlos Jobim, and was released in 1967 on A&M Records. The recording session was in the United States, and most of the musicians were Americans. Prolific jazz album cover photographer Pete Turner created the solarized cover picture of a giraffe. NOTE: Reportedly, the giraffe image was to be with a red background but was accidentally flipped (reversed) resulting in the green color. (I don't think I ever saw the red version while at A&M.) The cover design was consistent with the overall packaging concept created for the series. Consumers readily recognized this as a Creed Taylor Production (CTI) for the albums in this 1960s series. The album was released in 1967. The exact release date for this particular vinyl (SP-9-3009) is presumed to be the early 1980s, as it became part of the “Audio Master Plus” series, AM+ for short. The sticker on the outside of the shrink-wrap states:
