El tecno-pop de Aparato Raro levantó uno de los sonidos más respetados del auge pop ocurrido en Chile durante los años ochenta. Aunque se formó con integrantes provenientes del jazz, la banda cultivó un sonido centrado en los sintetizadores, según una novedosa dinámica para la época. Temas como “Calibraciones” y “Ultimátum” los hicieron golpear en radios e incluso en circuitos intelectuales, donde sólo Los Prisioneros tenían su lugar ganado. Por eso, y pese a su abrupto final, Aparato Raro pasó a la historia como uno de los grupos más importantes de ese tiempo.
Aparato Raro's techno-pop raised one of the most respected sounds of the pop boom that occurred in Chile during the eighties. Although it was formed with members from jazz, the band cultivated a sound focused on synthesizers, according to a new dynamic for the time. Themes such as "Calibrations" and "Ultimatum" made them beat on radios and even on intellectual circuits, where only the Prisoners had their won place. Therefore, and despite its abrupt end, Apparatus Rare went down in history as one of the most important groups of that time.
