Description
Apollo Records original metal record stamper from 1958 in original sleeve. Condition is used, in “as found” condition. Sleeve shows signs of age.
THIS IS A METAL POSITIVE OF THE ORIGINAL RECORDING BEFORE IT IS MADE IN TO A DISC. It is believed to be by Solomon Burke and the jacket has two pencil numbers 500, and then a large number 522.
Solomon Burke (born James Solomon McDonald, March 21, 1936 or 1940 – October 10, 2010) was an American preacher and singer who shaped the sound of rhythm and blues as one of the founding fathers of soul music in the 1960s.He has been called "a key transitional figure bridging R&B and soul", and was known for his "prodigious output".
Mothers are a metal version of the finished record and are limited to less than a handful for any given release.This would have normally have been destroyed once the production run was complete.
