Description

Archie Shepp (with Ted Curson, Joseph Orange, Marion Brown, Joe Chambers, Reggie Johnson) FIRE MUSIC Impulse A-86 MONO, recorded 1965.  gatefold original. Black-and-orange label. “VAN GELDER” stamped into wax. Disc has an invisible pressing flaw that gives a gentle fuzz every revolution for most of side A.  other side impeccable.  Overall VG++.  Jacket is M-: strong, straight, and virginal. Original sleeve also.


Here’s the fourth of about 50 batches of records from a fastidious NY-area collector with excellent taste. One owner since release in most cases. Very many of these were played either very little or very carefully. They’ve been carefully play-graded as well.  Low starts, as you can see, and almost no reserves. Bid with confidence.
