You are bidding on the extremely rare (only 500 pressed) debut release on 7" vinyl by The Arctic Monkeys, Britain’s best band since Oasis!

You also get: An even rarer (1 of 200) copy of ‘Thee Humbug’ – from ‘Sheffield Phonographic Corporation SPC’ magazine from Sheffield, including a free CD with an Arctic Monkeys demo called ‘A certain Romance’ which isn’t available anywhere else, and isn’t on the debut album. The free CD also includes tracks by 13 other new bands inc Long Blondes (see below for full track list)
The mag contains a feature (pictured below) about the Arctic Monkeys, interviewed and written before all the hype started to leak out of Sheffield. The writer says at the end "apparently since I wrote this, this lot are now on the verge of making it big" (paraphrase). I don't think even HE realised HOW big! It's a nice touch, and a little piece of rock history.
AND – I’ll send you a CD of 18 top notch Arctic Monkeys demos (which the band have made available as a free download from their website) – including several songs re-recorded for the debut album, and many that you won’t find elsewhere. With these guys you can definitely believe the hype; with the rawness of the Libertines or the Futureheads, the wit of Morrissey and The Smiths, and tunes to rival Franz Ferdinand or Kaiser Chiefs.
When this single was released as a limited edition of 500 pressings for each format (Cd and 7”), most of the world were unaware that The Arctic Monkeys were so important; that didn’t stop every copy being sold before it could even hit the shops though! Leaving this release one of the most sought after and desirable items of the past few years. To own this release truly is to own a real and lasting piece of music history.
Here’s the ‘rock situation’ in Britain at the start of 2006: Pete Doherty’s Babyshambles have been unable to supplement their tabloid ventures with enough good tunes, and while it’s true Carl Barat may bring some relief with his new band Dirty Pretty Things, it is Alex Turner leading the Arctic Monkeys that will go down in history as saving music in 2006. And believe me when I say, they will be around for a long time to come. The Monkey's debut album 'Whatever People Say I am, That's What I'm Not' is reported to be the fastest selling rock album of all time, robbing Oasis' debut Definitely Maybe of that honour!
