Description

Here we offer Aretha Franklin's first pop album, "Aretha with the Ray Bryant Combo," issued by Columbia Records in 1961, the original first pressing (U.S.) in MONO of this young diva's initial step from gospel to popular music legend. 
The album is mint--perhaps never played--but for a "Demonstration Use Only Not for Sale" sticker on the label of Side 1, as the album looks to have been a copy provided for free to a media agent, as was the method of promotion at the time. The album cover has light shelf wear as can be seen in the photos.  The bottom edge of the album pocket is in good shape--no splits--which is remarkable. Album ships in an acid-free sleeve.
