Originally released in 1980, “Clara Crocodilo” was the first album by musician and composer Arrigo Barnabé, accompanied here by the band Sabor de Veneno.
Pointed out by the critic Okky de Souza, from Veja, as “the greatest novelty to appear in Brazilian music since Tropicália”, Arrigo's album opened the doors of the movement that would become known as Vanguarda Paulista.
The album “Clara Crocodilo” ranks 51st on the list of the 100 greatest albums of Brazilian music made by Rolling Stone magazine in 2007, and is considered to date one of the best and most original albums of experimental music in Brazil.
Mixing serialisms, such as dodecaphonism, with free atonalism and elements of pop rock, the work tells the story of Clara Crocodilo, public enemy number 1, a character inspired by comic books. More than forty years after its original release, Arrigo Barnabé's masterpiece now has a new deluxe edition on green vinyl with an impasto gatefold cover and a special booklet with images from the time and unpublished testimonials from the band's musicians and the composer.
