Description
I am having a bit of a clear out and relinquishing some of my Jazz records. They have been well cared for and cleaned during my ownership. I am starting all auctions at 99p with NO reserve so a chance to grab some real bargains as they are all rare sought after records. I could write a long listing for each but will keep the info below brief and if any further questions, images or videos of them playing are required please let me know. I am happy to combine postage costs and will do every second LP free postage via PayPal refund. All ratings are done using the Goldmine Standard and are both play and visually rated.
Art Blakey - Orgy In Rhythm Volume 2 BLP 1555.
Released on Blue Note Records between 1957 and 1959 this appears to be a crossover copy with each side having a slightly different label. Side 2 has what is an older label that does not have Inc. after Blue Note Records or a R for registered trademark above the e of Note that side 2 has. Between this time Blue Note Records become an incorporated company and registered the logo against copyright.
The music on here is an indulgence in percussion. Mainly African beat, it is a very good listen. You would never get this kind of LP released these days. It is uncompromising to say the least.
Recorded by Rudy Van Gelder and pressed at the Plastylite pressing plant it sounds very lively.
