Description

1959 Stereo pressing of Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers self-titled album, better known as Moanin'. The cover has certainly seen better days. The stereo sticker has long since been peeled off, there is about a 6" seam split on the top and a 4" seam split on the bottom and a good amount of edge and spine wear. Despite some discoloration, the image on the front is still relatively presentable, as is the back. The record has a good number of hairlines and scuffs but no feelable scratches or skips and the music overpowers the surface noise for the majority of the album. This is by no means a pristine copy and won't win any audiophile awards but is an early pressing of a classic jazz album with a deep groove on both sides, RVG STEREO and the Plastylite P or "Ear" in the deadwax and 47 West 63rd on the labels.
