Description
Hi All, and welcome to the next phase in the thinning out of my boy’s stuff. This time around you are invited to bid on a beautiful Blue Horizon Album:
Title: Blues After Hours by Arthur Gunter
Cat No: 2431012
Issue: Original 1st issue on the fabulous BLUE HORIZON Label - issued in 1971 (licensed from Excello records)
Vinyl Condition Visual: Just Ex+ in every regard - the vinyl is outstanding and has retained its deep shine and lustre and has no unsightly marks or notable scratches - only the minimum of normal wear from removing it from the inner sleeve is just evident, this is very much a cherished album that I have owned for the past 18 odd years and it is conservatively graded as EX strictly iaw RRPG.
Playback Condition: A joy to listen to - Ex playback throughout. Almost silent run-ins/outs to both sides, only very low level static present in places, but I hasten to add this really is minimal. No skips, jumps or other notable interference to report at all. Every song is delivered clear and crsip, just fab.
Label Condition: Just check the photos, the labels are superb, clean and unmarked. Ex+ Condition. You would be pushed to find a better example.
Cover Front: The cover is graded as VG+ iaw RRPG standards, due to its delicate unlaminated front, the cover is starting to show a few minor blemishes and ring wear is just evident in places. Slight rubbing evident at all edges. That said, the cover is still in very good order and you would be pushed to find a better one as the cover is very soft card and delicate.
Cover Back: The black unlaminated rear is actually stunning with no marks, doodles or blemishes at all to report. Minor rubbing at the bottom but nothing of note at all. EX condition.
Spine: The spine is no longer square and is now rounded and showing rub marks along the length. That said, the text is clear and legible, overall graded as VG.
Corners: Slightly bumped at the corners but nothing that distracts from the sheer fab condition of this classic and scarce album and all commensurate with its age.
Summary:
A fantastic blues album in overall EX condition - If you collect this great label I recommend this to you as it is one of the last issued by the label and it is therefore rather a scarce and elusive album. With the current and emerging interest in vinyl ( I don’t think it ever really went away to be honest) good stuff, such as this label, will get more and more difficult to find. So if good Blues is your bag, here’s your chance to grab a very decent copy of a very good and scarce album. If you’re not delighted with it and you disagree with my description please return it to me for a no quibble reimbursement of your money. I can’t be fairer than that. Good Luck.
Mama, the sky is crying!
