Love w/ Arthur Lee - Forever Changes - Elektra EKL-4013 - MONO USA PRESSING

An album that needs no introduction. Summer of love L.A. psych classic.
Extremely rare late mono issue (November, 1967). The only way to get to hear the different instrument balances, fades, etc compared to the more common two-channel mix. These 1967 mono mixes have never been re-issued and have been unavailable since 1968.
Finding a copy of this LP with no surface noise at all is nearly impossible, since the master records were cut at very low volume levels compared to the norm for the time, resulting in a poor signal-to-noise ratio on even the best copies. Considering that Mint copies of this LP can sell for $300-500 (depending on which pressing plant produced them) this VG/VG+ copy should be of interest.
I've been through 5 copies of this LP in search of THE keeper copy. This one was 2nd best out of the bunch. It plays well with no major defects, but with some sparse noise throughout which becomes noticeable in the quieter parts (intros to Alone Again Or, and Old Man). Also noticed some louder pops towards the end of "Bummer in the Summer" on Side B. And some soft repeating noise in "Maybe the People would be the Times" (hear audio clips)
An opportunity to add a very rare LP to your collection and explore Forever Changes' little-known mono mix. Not a perfect copy, but should be a satisfying listening experience for most. If you object to a little surface noise and/or if you don't have a proper mono system this copy may not be for you. Nice quiet CDs and vinyl reissues of "Forever Changes" are available - just not in MONO like this copy is.
Complete with original Elektra inner sleeve.

Condition of cover: VG+ Minor general wear, image vivid. Faded name on back in felt pen. Beginning of ringwear. All seams solid. Slight spotting/discoloration around edges. Spine is strong but only partially legible. Overall still functional and very presentable.
Condition of disc: VG/VG+ Numerous light scuffs and scratches plainly visible on both sides, still plays through nicely with no major defects. No skips, jumps, etc. Plays back clearly with some suface noise and occasional pops or clicks. See details in item description.
